Jarrow Formulas' PS-100 contains Lucas Meyer's trademarked phosphatidylserine (Leci-PS). Lucas Meyer has been conducting the clinical studies that constitute the scientific support for phosphatidylserine's benefit to the brain and it's ability to lower the adrenal glands production of cortisol (an anti-catabolic effect). It is this anti-catabolic affect that has sparked the interest in PS by athletes. Phosphatidylserine may help minimize the effects of post exercise induced corticoid release which is associatted with muscle tissue catabolism. Studies indicate that this effect is greatest in the 24 hours immediately following exercise.
