Chocolate lovers rejoice! Just when you thought you found one of the greatest bars around with the Larabar, they've managed to bolster their offering with Jocalat (pronounced jah ca lat). Jocalat is Fair Trade Certified chocolate in its purest form! The Larabar - Jocalat bar combines all the great benefits of a raw food bar with the one thing many of us drool over...Chocolate!

Not only will the indulgent Jocalat bar rock your taste buds but the rest of your body will thank you as well. Each Jocalat flavor contains no more than seven simple indredients and they're all organic! The chocolate in Jocalat, along with the fruits and nuts, contains high concentrations of natural antioxidants, which appear to be helpful in combating disease and aging. Each Jocalat bar also contains at least 20% of the recommended daily value of fiber, a healthy dose of Omega 6 essential fatty acids for heart health, 13 essential vitamins and minerals to help decrease stress and increase energy, and resident phytonutrients to promote a healthy immune system. All of these nutrients are naturally present in the whole food ingredients used in Jocalat. Jocalat bars are not fortified in any way since that would mean more processing and that word doesn't jive with Larabar.

If you are familiar with Larabar's Maya bar the Jocalat bar is the same bar with a different name. Larabar wanted a name that more clearly captures the essence of their product, and Jocalat, a centuries-old word for chocolate, does exactly that. If you were eating the Maya bar before you may notice a small difference in the texture and taste. Larabar wanted to create a smoother texture and more indulgent taste so they switched from cocoa nibs (crunchier) to cocoa mass (smoother) in the Jocalat bar.

The Larabar Jocalat bar uses 90% of ingredients dehydrated below 118 degrees, which they consider to be raw. The 10% of Jocalat that is not raw includes roasted cocoa and organic flavors such as peppermint, orange, and vanilla. For those of you concerned about caffeine, you can expect to find about 4.8 to 32 milligrams per flavor:
